"Go from can't boil water to Cordon Bleu by spending a day in the kitchen of Woodlands Resort & Inn" "I'm no chef, but I did stay at Woodlands Resort & Inn last night to experience its new Chef du Jour cooking class, which places home cooks in the kitchen to help prepare the day's meals for the state's only Mobil Five-Star restaurant. The one-on-one class runs $600, meets from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., includes a three-course lunch paired with wine, and sends you home with a chef's jacket and printed recipes. ~ Bryan Hunter "

"Tarver King seems too young and fresh-faced to have worked in such superb restaurants as Inn at Little Washington and The French Laundry. At 28, he’s reached his latest culinary milestone as the executive chef at Woodlands Resort & Inn Dining Room, an establishment which boasts both a Mobil Five-Star rating and AAA Five Diamond rating for dining."

"Created to give special recognition to restaurants that clearly exceed the requirements of the Award of Excellence; many are close to the Grand Award level. These lists display either vintage depth, with vertical offerings of several top producers from major regions, or excellent breadth spread over several winegrowing regions. These wine lists typically offer 500 or more selections, along with superior presentation." ~ Wine Spectator

South Carolina Inns: The Spot To Splurge Believe it or not, we're sending you near Charleston, but not to Charleston. I recently snuck away to three inns beyond the city that fed and pampered me so well, I never made it to town. (You don't have to stay overnight to dine, but it sure makes an evening more relaxing.) If I could go back to only one, I'd choose Woodlands Resort & Inn, 40 minutes from downtown.
